Packages to look at
R is all about the packages (for my .02, YMMV). You can do a lot of cool stuff with the right packages working together. There's also datacamp.com and Pluralsight for actually learning the language, but I couldn't give a review on either as I've not done them. Also r-bloggers.com is good for some excellent examples of what's possible. HTH.
